IN THE HEART OF EXMOOR

– The Farm –

Nestled between the quiet villages of Timberscombe and Luxborough, Allercott Farm stretches across 240 acres of farmland and wooded valleys. There is a public footpath which runs through the woodland and past what is known locally as ‘The Lost Village of Clicket’. Few remains of buildings, a mill and lime kilns can be seen today but at the start of the 20th century it was a thriving hamlet of workers. The population dwindled and it has been recorded that in 1901 there were only three people left living there.

Besides this beautiful wooded valley there is always lot’s to see on the farm, we run a flock of 400 Ewes which lamb in April, and our herd of Aberdeen Angus cows calf once a year in the late summer/ early Autumn. There is an abundance of wildlife, flora and fauna, which guests are welcome to explore.

We also have horses, ponies, chickens, and dogs on the farm. Our dogs are very friendly and are used to other people and their dogs visiting!

Zoe & Julian Willford

Now retired from farming, Zoe and Julian also live on the farm and are always around to lend a helping hand. Zoe looks after the garden maintenance and Julian is a retired beekeeper, but still often seen in his beekeeping suit!

THE FARMER

Ridian Willford

What Ridian doesn’t know about Allercott isn’t worth knowing! He grew up here and takes care of the day to day running of the farm. He also operates a firewood business, which is handy as our biomass boiler takes a lot of logs to keep all the buildings here on the farm warm!

YOUR HOST

Jasmine Willford

Jasmine looks after the bookings and housekeeping. She also runs the farm’s social media. Often seen with her two sons, Sidney and Mostin on their bikes!
